“When I first found out that Katie and Mike were engaged, there was a piece of me that was sad. I thought I was losing my best friend. But, as I thought about it more, I realized that I wasn’t losing my best friend, I was gaining a new one.” -Kimberly, Maid of Honor
A wedding symbolizes the joining of two people that love each other, but its so much more. It’s the start of a new family, and the joining of two existing families. Never has that been so evident to me as it was this past Sunday, while shooting Katie and Mike’s wedding.
Katie and Mike planned a Fall themed wedding, and Mother Nature obliged with a perfect day. Katie and Mike exchanged their vows at the Crestview Chapel at the Stroudmoor Country Inn. The outdoor ceremony site was perched high on a ridge, overlooking a valley full of Fall colors. After the ceremony, Katie and Mike were announced into the reception room for the first time as husband and wife. Whereas most couples go immediately into their first dance, Katie and Mike chose to start the night off with a 20-minute dance mix to get the crowd out of their seats and onto the dance floor. The party kept going from there on out.
Another huge thanks to Tom Janz for helping us out on this wedding. Congratulations, Katie and Mike!
