“In New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made of…”
As I ducked in and out of doorways while capturing the events unfolding in front of me, that chorus kept popping into my head, and there’s no denying that it was fit for the moment. I’ve known Francis for more than 10 years. To say that he’s a good friend would be an understatement. He’s a great friend, and when I first met Cheryl, I knew they were a good match. When Francis called me and said he was going to propose to Cheryl and he wanted me to shoot the event, I was excited for a number of reasons. We’ve never shot a proposal before, so the chance to do something new is always exciting. But, even more importantly, it meant we’d be there from the beginning to capture the moment she said “yes”. Francis decided he would propose to Cheryl at the corner of 1st Avenue and 12th Street, where they shared their first kiss. It was so cool to see it happen in front of my lens; her reaction and the reaction of the bystanders, was perfect.
Congratulations Francis and Cheryl!
