As wedding photographers, we always enjoy hearing people’s love stories. During our initial consultation, we ask each couple about how they met, and what we typically get is the abridged version. The wedding day is when the details of the story get filled in. We knew that Sarah and Ben were both city planners who had met while attending grad school, but on Sunday night, we learned more about them from friends on both sides. We learned about how they had scoped each other out during the first few classes, about how they asked friends to go on double dates, and even about how they plotted a way to be on the same team for a learning task. After hearing these stories, it was evident that fate had planned a little something extra for these planners 🙂
Sarah and Ben’s wedding day had us exploring areas of Philadelphia that we hadn’t seen before. They had their “first look” in Independence Park, then we traveled to the brand new Race Street Pier to see the sites and take some photos under the Ben Franklin Bridge. From there, we headed to Elfreth’s Alley to see the historic Philadelphia row houses that date back to the 1700’s. The ceremony and reception were held at The Trust, a venue that has quite a story as well. Originally, it was the Girard Corn Exchange, then it was a housing facility for sea-faring men. In 2004, it was renovated to be used as the house for MTV’s Real World Philadelphia. It was a great day learning about Sarah and Ben’s love and the city where they first met and began their love story.
Congratulations, Sarah & Ben!
