Jess & Chris are both creative people, so we knew their wedding was going to have a style that was all its own. They envisioned their day to be very laid back and casual, getting rid of much of the formality of the traditional wedding day. They both seemed so sure of how their day was going to be, and they pretty much nailed it. But the one thing we don’t think either of them were ready for was the gravity of it all. There’s a certain nervousness that comes with the wedding day; a happy tension that takes over when you finally realize that the day is here. The day when you promise, in front of the friends and family you love the most, to always love the person standing in front of you. Jess and Chris were both feeling it. As they arrived at the wedding location separately, they both expressed the same exact emotions to us– “I’m nervous/I can’t wait for it to begin/I can’t wait to see Jess/Chris.” It was something that we weren’t expecting, knowing how casual they both wanted the day to feel.
By the end of the night, though, everything had fallen into place. They read their vows, exchanged rings, and locked love letters in a wine box. They enjoyed an amazing dinner and some even more amazing wine, courtesy of Hopewell Valley Vineyards, enjoying conversation and laughs with their friends and family. By the end of the night, some tables even got pushed aside, creating a mini-dance floor.
