We’ve known Lauren and Phil for almost 8 years. We photographed Phil’s sister Andrea’s wedding back in 2007 and if you follow our blog or social media accounts, you’ve probably seen Phil’s nephews Jaden & Jensen in a few posts each year since. We love their families and were honored to be a part of their wedding day. When Lauren and Phil got engaged 2 years ago, they reached out to us in the early planning stages to see if we’d be available to photograph their wedding. When they told us it would be in Ireland our excitement was through the roof. Neither of us had ever been there, and we knew it was going to be an adventure.
We flew in a few days prior to the wedding to do some sightseeing along with a pre-wedding photo session with Lauren and Phil at the awe-inspiring Cliffs of Moher. The weather was not ideal that day, but when you travel all the way to Ireland it takes more than a little rain and wind (ok, it was a lot of rain and wind… and some hail) to ruin the shoot, so we all buckled down and made the most of it.
The following day, we headed to The K Club in Kildare County for the rehearsal dinner and wedding. The K Club pulled out all of the stops, showing Lauren and Phil and all of their guests why they’re renowned for their customer service and wedding planning throughout the country. Their wedding day was filled with laughter and smiles and some tears during an emotional ceremony that left not a single dry eye. After the ceremony, we headed outside to explore and enjoy the breathtaking grounds of The K Club. Dinner was delicious and it was capped by toasts from Lauren’s father and her sister/maid-of-honor Lindsay, and Phil’s brother Leonard and best friend Tim, who shared best man duties. With dinner and dessert complete, we headed downstairs for some dancing and more food and drinks.
