Being asked to photograph a couple’s wedding is a humbling experience. They are asking you to be there for one of the most important days of their lives. They are asking you to capture their family traditions, so they can be passed on to future generations. It is something that amazes us each and every time we work. This weekend was no different. We photographed Liz and Danny’s wedding at St. Mary of Mount Virgin Church in New Brunswick, NJ. It is a church that Danny’s great grandfather helped to build, and where Danny and much of his family members were baptized. From there we headed to The Brownstone in Paterson, NJ where Liz’s sister also celebrated her wedding reception in 2008.
Liz and Danny first met in high school gym class, 9 years ago. Liz was a senior and Danny was a junior and neither had noticed each other prior to that fateful day. It didn’t take long for their relationship to kick into high gear, with Danny asking Liz to be his girlfriend, all while nursing a broken nose from a basketball injury. In listening to their friends and family describe their relationship, it is apparent that this is a relationship built on a solid foundation; one that is tested every October when Danny is rooting for the New York Yankees while Liz is rooting for the Boston Red Sox. We’re pretty sure that the only thing powerful enough to beat that rivalry is true love.
Congratulations Liz & Danny! Enjoy your honeymoon in Hawaii!
