Last weekend, we joined Shine and Bernard for their wedding at the Cathedral Basilica in Newark, NJ followed by a reception at the Crystal Plaza in Livingston, NJ. It was a day filled with plenty of emotion and support from Shine and Bernard’s friends and family, and it was amazing to see and photograph. It is always fun to photograph amazing venues and beautiful details, but emotion and once in a lifetime moments are things that we look for most, and they are the moments that we think our couples will cherish the most in years to come.
The first such moment was when Shine presented her mother and bridesmaids with a gift for joining her on her wedding day. She got them all some beautiful, personal lockets and necklaces and the locket for her mother had two photographs, one from her parents’ wedding day and one from her grand-parents’ wedding day. Shine was so happy to give it to her mom, and her mom thought it was just perfect.
Later in the evening, Bernard’s mother got on stage and performed with the band. It was an amazing performance that had the whole room partying and having fun. Finally, just after dinner, Shine’s father came to the microphone at the reception and gave a toast to Shine and Bernard, thanking them for being such great kids and giving all of the grandparents two amazing grandchildren. It was a speech that had everyone in the room laughing and crying in equal amounts.
It was a day filled with moments that will last forever. Congratulations Shine and Bernard!
