It has been 15 months since our last wedding and what a crazy 15 months it has been. Just 2 weeks after our last wedding with Courtney and Scott, the world began shutting down, closing itself in to protect from the virus raging through the world. I think we all wondered what life would be like in the future. Everyone closed themselves off, limited interacting with friends and family and the outside world. Would we ever see weddings the same way we had in the past? Would we ever be able to celebrate and laugh and love with our friends and family. Now, 15 months later, with many people vaccinated, things are finally starting to feel like they might get back to normal.
While we were all in quarantine, Nick’s best man, his brother Neil, picked up on a few important lessons and during his speech he shared them with all of us.
“The first lesson is that we should forge and maintain deep and lasting bonds with our friends and family. The second lesson was to take your time finding the person you’ll spend the rest of your life with and look for all of the positive qualities Anna has. The third lesson was to accept people for what makes them different, and love them in spite of those differences.”
It was so great to join Anna and Nick for their wedding at Maritime Parc in Jersey City. We first met Anna when she was a bridesmaid in Liz and Dan’s wedding and we knew that it was going to be a party. Anna and Nick’s ceremony was performed by Nick’s good friend, Raph, and he did an amazing job incorporating some great thoughts about both of them while mixing in some moments that had everyone laughing.
Congratulations Anna and Nick! When you head off to Italy for your honeymoon, please bring us with you!
