When I sat down with Janice to discuss her and Drew’s wedding day, she confessed to me that they had a secret. She said that they love to go shopping at places like HomeGoods and Marshalls, scouting for deals on diamonds in the rough. If you’ve ever been to one of these stores than you know exactly what she’s talking about. If you haven’t, let me explain. HomeGoods and Marshalls are known for having designer goods or limited run items at low prices. On any given day, you might find a designer handbag or some cool piece or furniture or artwork, but if you don’t buy it and you come back the next day, chances are, the items will be long gone. You never really know what you might find and that’s part of the fun. It’s like a treasure hunt. In many ways, Janice and Drew’s love for finding those treasures is much like their relationship. They met at a bar in Hoboken back in 2007, when neither of them were really “looking” for a relationship. Their relationship grew though, gradually becoming a highly polished gem, a diamond in the rough.
Janice and Drew got married at St. Frances Cabrini Church in Piscataway, NJ. St. Frances has been Janice’s family church since she was a child. In fact, we also photographed her brother Jahn’s wedding to Christine there in 2014. After the ceremony, we headed down to Sea Bright for some photos at the postcard mural and on the beach, before heading to McLoone’s Rum Runner for the reception. It was a wonderful and unique reception, totally unique to Janice and Drew and very fitting for a couple that enjoys searching out the hidden treasures in life.
Congratulations Janice and Drew!
